Walking In His Ways

“But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’” Jeremiah 7:23 NKJV

The Bible defines obedience as walking in God’s ways. And it promises that it will be well with us if we are obedient:

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.” Psalm 128:1-2 ESV

It is no easy task to walk in His ways and to resist the enemy’s efforts to thwart our obedience. One of God’s ways for that is prayer. And what better thing than to pray God’s word back to Him. Commit this prayer to memory. Repeat as needed:

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes,
And I shall keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things,
And revive me in Your ways. Amen.
Psalm 119:33-37 NKJV
