If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 NKJV
Facing a time of trial? Perplexed about a decision? Both are times of refining and sanctification that require wisdom. And not just any sort of wisdom. Biblical wisdom.
James 1 provides the answer for such times. James commands us to pray to God for wisdom and He will give it to us liberally. That means freely, without judgement, and in abundance. This is not a simple exhortation. It is a commandment.
In case you don’t get it yet, times of trial are intended for our growth toward spiritual maturity and sanctification. Growth comes from leaning into God, from being entirely dependent on him. And when we call on him, he will provide wisdom in abundance and without judgement.
