This is Day Two of our prayer and petition of God as part of The Return (https://thereturn.org). Today we use Daniel’s Prayer (Daniel 9:4-19) as our prayer guide.
Dear Lord, we humbly come before you, our righteous and Holy God as Daniel did for his country and people.
We come because your word says; Then if my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, (You) will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land (2 Chronicles 7:14, NASB).
Our hearts are breaking because of the condition of our country.
As Daniel we pray to you O LORD the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we individually and as a nation, have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from your commandments and ordinances Moreover we have not listened to your Word.
Righteousness belongs to You, O LORD, but to us, open shame because of the unfaithful deeds which we have committed against You. To the LORD our God belong compassion and forgiveness, but we have rebelled against You, nor have we obeyed the voice of the LORD to walk in Your teaching which you set before us through Your Word.
Indeed all America has transgressed Your law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice. So the curse has been poured out on us because we have sinned against You. Thus you have spoken against us and our rulers to bring great calamity on us. Yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our iniquity and giving attention to Your truth.
O LORD, who had made us a great nation with your mighty hand and made a Name for Yourself among the nations. O LORD in accordance with all your righteous acts, let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from America.So now, our God listen to the prayer of your servants and to this supplication; and for Your sake and to magnify Your name, let Your face shine on America.
O my God incline Your ear and hear! Open your eyes and see our desolation and the country founded on and called by Your Name.We are not presenting our supplications before you on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion.
O LORD hear! O LORD forgive! O LORD listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your nation and Your people are called by Your Name.
