Let us pray.
See, O Lord, for we are in distress; Our spirits are greatly troubled; Our hearts are overturned within us; For we have been very rebellious.
We lift up our heart and hands toward You, our God and Father in Heaven; We have transgressed and rebelled. Do not forsake us, O LORD; O God, do not be far from us! Make haste to help our country The United States of America, O Lord, our salvation!
Out of the depths we are crying to You, O LORD. Lord, hear our voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of our supplications. If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.
We wait for you O LORD, our souls do wait, And in Your word do we hope. Our souls wait for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning.
Do not remember the iniquities of our forefathers against us; Let Your compassion come quickly to meet us, for we are brought very low. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Your name; And deliver us and forgive our sins for Your name’s sake.
Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” O people of America, hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem us from all our iniquities. Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your indignation toward us to cease.
Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations? Will You not Yourself revive us again, That Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your lovingkindness, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.
Amen
