Jordan River Faith

But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” Luke 8:54. NIV

Sometimes, when our circumstances just don’t seem to line up, God may be requiring a step of faith. Think of it this way: when the children of Israel crossed the Jordan River, they had to get their feet wet before the waters rolled back.

How can I know the major decision I’m making is God’s will? Ask God to confirm your decision with Scripture. Seek the counsel of godly people. And know that if God closes the door, you can’t force it open. Don’t manipulate circumstances to make your decision work.

As you walk by faith, you will increasingly have a deep inner confidence that your decision is of God. Psalm 25:9 says, “He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.” If you want to do what’s right and walk in God’s way, not your own, He will guide you. But to be guided, you must get up and take the first step.
