The Full Armor Of God

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:13-18 NLT

I have gathered plenty of spiritual information, knowledge, and facts. Praise God for all the knowledge I’ve gained. But knowledge alone is not enough to keep the devil under my feet. It’s time to turn my intellectual knowledge of God’s Word into the sword of the Spirit, and to raise it high and brandish it against the onslaughts the enemy has been bringing against me. It is time to turn my knowledge about faith into a shield that withstands every demonic attack.

My Confession For Today

Today I choose to pick up those weapons and to walk in the full armor of God. I confess that I have spiritual weapons to defeat the enemy. I walk in those weapons and use them every time the devil tries to attack my life or the lives of those I love. Because I have the whole armor of God, I am fit and equipped to shove back every assault the devil may try to bring against me. God has more than adequately outfitted me with every weapon I need to maintain the victory Jesus obtained for me. I declare this by faith in Jesus’ name.

The Full Armor Of God, A Crib Sheet

  1. Belt: truth; aligning our beliefs and actions to the truth of the Word of God.
  2. Breastplate: righteousness; being honest, good, humble, and fair.
  3. Shoes: the peace that comes from the Good News of the Gospel.
  4. Shield: faith; the certain assurance that God will keep His promises.
  5. Helmet: salvation; believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again.
  6. Sword: the Word of God, spoken to others with the aid of the Holy Spirit.

And then there is this:

Pray at all times. Ask God for anything in line with the Holy Spirit’s wishes. Plead with Him, reminding Him of your needs, and keep praying earnestly for all Christians everywhere. Ephesians 6:18
