Presidents’ Day Truth

“It is error alone which needs the support of government. Truth can stand by itself.” Thomas Jefferson (1743 – 1826), Founding Father and third President of the United States of America

America’s founding fathers understood that government, while important, could become a perpetuator of false and untrue doctrine. Here Thomas Jefferson reminds us that truth can stand by itself. It does not need any institution or government to support it. Not so with falsity. For falsity to be sustained, it requires the support of government.
