Continuous Sanctification

The terrible thing, the almost impossible thing, is to hand over your whole self – all your wishes and precautions – to Christ.” C.S. Lewis

Just as a new day brings a Providentially clean slate, so we too must surrender afresh. There are entire areas of our lives that have not yet been brought into submission, and this can only be done through continuous conversion.

To fail to be continuously converted puts a stumbling block in the growth of our spiritual life. Convinced we can be our own god, we deify our independence and self-will and call them by the wrong name. What we call strength, God sees as stubborn weakness.

Surrender afresh each morning. Slowly but surely you will claim the whole territory for the Spirit of God.
