People Of The Way

We begin a study of the beauty and power of the words of The Way. Our study starts with ‘People Of The Way‘ or just ‘The Way.’

Before believers were called Christians, they were called People of The Way (Note 1). People Of The Way were not Roman Catholics, or Baptists, or Methodists. Or Evangelical Republicans. Or for that matter Neo-Marxist Nihilists. They were not committed to this or that cultural practice or obligation. They were simply completely devoted to the Gospel of Jesus The Christ: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6

Followers of The Way did not parse this or that from the Gospel as proof or dis-proof of their version of The Truth (Note 2). They accepted the self-evident nature of Revealed Truth. And fell to their knees in worship.

Note 1: Acts 9:2, Acts 19:9
Note 2: There is only one Truth. It is Revealed Truth made known by God: i) through creation, including all that is nature; ii) through the Bible, the inspired Word of God; and iii) through the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth.
